Introduction

Our survey form consists of two pages: part 1 is for your details part 2 is the details of the beetle(s) you have or haven't seen.

If you have seen more than one beetle, you can send as many sightings as you like using the same details, from a different location or even at a later date.

If you think that you might want to return to the site at a later date to submit a further sighting, please be sure to tick the remember me box on the next screen. That way you can avoid having to enter your details again.

The survey form should take no more than a couple of minutes to complete however we advise that you read the guidelines below to be sure that you have all the information ready.

LOCATION
Please give as much information as possible
If the record is from your home, please supply your postcode
For rural areas, please give a name for and a description of the site using local landmarks and a grid reference (6 figures) if possible.
SURROUNDINGS
Where exactly was the stag beetle? On a path, on a tree stump? In a park, a wood? Flying at dusk? Etc.
COMMENTS
Please give any other information you can provide, for example, whether the beetle was dead or alive and what species of tree it was found on. Are you seeing more or fewer than before?
PHOTOGRAPH
Please try to take a picture of your beetle and upload it to the website. We will put all the images we receive in an online gallery along with a credit for your image.
